Operators Purchased Nano SIM for New iPhone 5

While waiting for the next generation iPhone which isrumored to be on the market this fall,

European operators have started to buy nano-SIM card which may find its application in the future for Apple smartphone. It is reported that the party purchased millions of nano-sims units. It is unknown whether Apple has told its partners that the smartphone will work with nano SIM only. Operators have spend money at their own risk.

The size of the new nano-SIM card is 40% less than the usual micro SIM i.e., 12.3 × 8.8 × 0.67 mm. SIM-cards are full compatibility for all sizes.

It is worth mentioning that the new standard proposed by Apple was recently approved by the European Institute for Telecommunications Standards (ETSI). It is assumed that the company will make mobile phones even thinner and make room for other components such as additional memory or a more capacious battery.
